Mansfield Christian Camping Ministries

Our mission is to provide a place where Christian groups can host camps, retreats, services, and events to grow each other in the faith.

About

Light and Life Christian Camp got its beginnings back in the 1930s with the Free Methodist church. When it first started it was a humble ministry with a few buildings and a dirt floored tabernacle for worship. But those simple conditions did nothing to dampen the presence of God’s Spirit and workings in that place and the people who were apart of the camps. In 1951, by God’s provision, the camp went from dirt to cement for the tabernacle floor as the ministry grew. Families came and built cottages for themselves using Sears and Roebucks garage kits and turned the camp into a community. Light and Life saw its share of kids’ and family camps during those many years of operation.

However, as time went on the Free Methodist conference was no longer able to sustain the camp and it looked as though it may be sold until a group of individuals, uniting under the name Mansfield Christian Camping Ministries (MCCM), gathered together and bought the camp in 2001. And to this day it has remained in operation with the goal of not only allowing for fellow believers to have a place to gather as one in worship of the Lord, but also to be a light for Him within the community.
